Call tree

The call tree is built from the organisation structure: each person’s head, and that head’s head. It does not have to be typed in separately.

Members report; whoever has not reported is escalated up the line.

When an incident is declared, each team gets a room led by its team head. HR can read every room but does not post in them.

  • Roll call shows who has reported in this round.
  • Call phones a member straight from the room, and the room records the call.
  • Report for lets the head record a member’s status after a call, with an optional note. The room shows who reported for whom.
  • Private channels run from a member to their head, or to HR, for personal matters such as health or family.
  • Messages are up to 1,000 characters. When the incident closes, the room becomes read only.

Anyone still not reported after the set time is escalated: first to their head, then to the next level up. If the person next in line cannot take the step, it goes to someone else, and the room records who was notified instead of whom.

Each person’s phone keeps the contacts they are entitled to (their head and their head’s head; a head also keeps their direct reports) so calls can still be made offline. The copy is cleared at sign-out and when the incident closes.
