Account opening

KYC Core is the applicant’s side, a web app that works on phones and desktops with nothing to install. CDD Core is the officers’ side. They share one database, so an application is never re-keyed.

  1. Forms first: personal details, work, declarations, and a guardian’s consent when the applicant is under 20.
  2. Identity: a Thai national ID card (front only; the applicant types the laser code), or an NFC passport for foreigners. Then a live face check and an SMS one-time code that binds the mobile number.
  3. Declarations that matter later: political status, FATCA self-certification (W-9 or W-8BEN, generated from the answers and signed in the app), and the destination bank account with a photo of the bank-book page.
  4. Review and sign once: signing is a fresh face scan plus an SMS code. A computer without a camera hands this step to the phone by QR code.
  5. Checks with the state: the DOPA card check and NDID, through the institution’s own connections.

SMS messages carry codes only, never links. Notifications go by e-mail. If the applicant closes the tab, the e-mail link leads back into the application.

Application states. The system acts at submission and after approval; officers act in between.
  • On submission the system scores the risk and screens the names at once. A customer who declares political status, for themselves or a close relative, is high risk immediately, and that level cannot be lowered.
  • Officers review identity results, screening results and documents. If something is missing, the maker asks for more information and the applicant edits in KYC Core.
  • The decision is proposed by the maker and signed on the route shown in the application file. Officers can see EDD Intel on the review page before they propose.
  • After approval the customer enters the customer book, the account is opened in the downstream system and the institution’s own account number is issued. No one has to press “send”.
  • Abandoned drafts with nothing worth keeping are removed after 60 minutes of inactivity.

The applicant is told by e-mail or SMS, on verified channels only, when the application is submitted, needs information, is approved, is opened or is refused. After the application, the applicant lands on a customer home page that shows status, account, documents and contact.
