Loss Event and Loss Report

ERM Core captures operational losses to the standard regulators and auditors expect, from the single loss event to the group’s monthly loss report.

  • Event date, discovery date, accounting date, business line, cause and Basel event type.
  • Gross, recovered and net amounts.
  • Multi-currency with an FX policy: amounts recorded in the original currency, digital assets included, converted to THB on a defined rate basis; valuation history is append-only.
  • Linked to RCSA: every loss is tied to a risk in the register, so the heat map learns from what actually happened.

The entity reports, its risk function validates, the system assigns the tier and routes it. The parent sees the event only after validation.
  • Materiality tiers: thresholds are set per group; the system assigns the tier and routes it — Tier 1 to the Risk Champion, Tier 3 to the RMC and board.
  • Reported-Then-Visible: reported, validated by the risk function, then visible upward. A parent sees a subsidiary’s loss only once that subsidiary has validated it.
  • Sensitive events: events marked sensitive are visible only along the reporting line, never sideways.
  • Each entity files its month, including a formal nil return.
  • The period freezes once the RMC accepts it; the group pack consolidates.
  • Loss data set: the cleaned, period-frozen data set for internal capital or regulatory reporting.
  • Regulatory watchlist: events approaching regulatory reporting thresholds.
  • Audit Committee overlap check: flags loss events that also appear as audit findings.
