For the BCP head and operator
The BCP head gives the orders; a named operator may be delegated the right to enter them in the system. Every order and every act of operation is recorded, and every BCP level change reaches every staff phone at once.
Who uses it: the BCP head, the BCP head’s alternate and the operator. The Entity Risk Manager uses the exercise log.

Before the first incident
Section titled “Before the first incident”- Make sure the organisation structure is complete: the call tree and every status view are generated from it.
- Confirm the company’s hazard set and warning criteria with the BCP committee’s hazard assessment.
- Name the operators and, if you use one, the BCP head’s alternate.
- Run a call-tree drill so staff know what a report-in request looks like.
