Team room and call tree
When the BCP plan is activated, the call tree asks every person to report in, starting from the organisation structure your company already keeps. Your team room is where you report in, talk to your team and reach your team head.
Who uses it: every employee. Your team head leads your team room.
Report in
Section titled “Report in”- When the plan is activated you receive a notification: report in.
- Open it. Your team room opens with the request at the top.
- Tap Report in. If you have not checked in yet, BCP Core asks for your check-in at the same time.
Until you report in, you show as pending to your team head and to the BCP head. If you are not reached within the time your company sets, you are escalated: your team head is asked to reach you, and after that the next level up.
Group chat
Section titled “Group chat”| Room | Who is in it | For |
|---|---|---|
| Team room | Your team, led by your team head | Reporting in, group notices, coordinating the team |
| Incident room | Everyone the BCP head adds for the incident | Coordinating across teams during the incident |
- Your team head can call you from the room and report for you after reaching you; the room shows who reported for whom.
- For a personal matter, open a private channel to your team head or to HR.
- Chat is person to person and kept with the incident record. When the incident is closed, the rooms become read-only.
Your alternate
Section titled “Your alternate”Every node in the call tree has an alternate one level up. If your team head cannot be reached, the call tree escalates to their head, who reaches the team instead. Your own alternate is shown at the top of your team room.
Your phone keeps the contacts you are entitled to — your team head and their head; a team head also keeps their direct reports — so you can still call when the network is poor. The copy is cleared when you sign out and when the incident is closed.
