Loss data set and regulatory watchlist

The loss data set is the cleaned, period-frozen record of an entity’s losses, for internal capital work and regulatory reporting. Beside it, the regulatory watchlist shows events nearing a regulatory reporting threshold, and the overlap check shows events that are also audit findings.

Who uses it: the Entity Risk Manager and Compliance, within their own entity. See Roles and permissions.

  • Period-frozen. A period enters the data set when it freezes — when the RMC accepts the entity’s monthly loss report. Its figures then stay as they were accepted.
  • Read at the accounting date. Each event counts in the period of its accounting date, whatever its event or discovery date.
  • Every event except the rejected ones. Rejected events, near misses and events on the credit-risk boundary are left out. Each row shows its record status.

The watchlist lists the events whose position is approaching a regulatory reporting threshold set for the entity, so they can be reported on time. It follows the latest valuation of each event.

The overlap check flags loss events that also appear as audit findings, so the Audit Committee sees one picture rather than two lists.

  1. Open the loss data set for your entity and choose the period.
  2. Open the regulatory watchlist to see the events nearing a threshold.
  3. Open the overlap check to see the events that are also audit findings.
  4. Export what you need; exports respect your visibility.
  • A frozen period does not change. The data set reads it as accepted.
  • Reads follow your visibility. You see your own entity; a parent sees what its subsidiaries have reported up. See Down-Only Visibility.
